Dr. Thomas is a native to this area. She grew up in Toccoa, GA, then went to Emory University in Atlanta where she received her BS in Biology with Highest Honors, as well as her medical degree. She then moved to Dallas, TX where she completed a general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern program, the largest such training program in the country.
At that point, she decided to focus on vascular surgery, and finished her training in the vascular fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. This is where she met and married her husband Brad, an attorney.
Dr. Thomas stayed in Charlotte to begin her career at Presbyterian Hospital in 2009. She relocated to Anderson in 2011 to be closer to family and joined Anmed. She joined Anderson Heart & Vascular, PC in June of 2017. Dr. Thomas specializes in carotid surgery/stenting, aortic aneurysm repair, lower extremity stenting/bypass surgery, and treatment of varicose veins. She is board certified in both general and vascular surgery, and is registered in vascular ultrasound interpretation. She is a member of multiple local and national vascular surgery societies.
