Compliance

Less compliance work to remember.
More built into the workflow.

LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner, HealthcareDirectTrust e-Prescribing of Controlled Substances Certification Program, Prescribing Applications, Candidate

DrWell is a LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner for Healthcare. Your program operates inside that certified environment, which is what makes advertising and payments workable for prescription care. DrWell is also a candidate in DirectTrust's e-Prescribing Certification Program for prescribing applications.

Behind the scenes

The behind-the-scenes work your team shouldn't have to become expert in

Connect helps structure the processes around your program so your staff can stay focused on patients and operations.

01
Advertising

DrWell offers an optional advertising service within its LegitScript-certified healthcare program, helping practices navigate prescription-related platform requirements.

02
Payments

Connect is structured for medication-related transactions, including the pharmacy merchant classification identified on this page. Your team does not have to become payment-category experts.

03
Pharmacy sourcing

Connect evaluates pharmacy partners before they receive patient orders, giving your practice a defined standard without asking staff to vet pharmacies from scratch.

04
Patient verification

Identity is checked before payment and medication ordering. Cases that cannot be verified automatically can be routed for provider review.

05
Documentation

Key actions are recorded with the patient workflow as they happen, giving your team a history to retrieve later.

Payments

Medication programs need more than a standard medical-services payment setup

Connect uses the pharmacy-related merchant classification identified on this page (MCC 5912), and DrWell is a LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner for Healthcare. The goal is to give your medication program a payment structure designed around what it actually does.

Why this matters
Your staff does not need to interpret merchant codes or build a separate payment structure around the program.
The payment setup reflects the medication-related nature of the program rather than a generic medical service.
DrWell's LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner status for healthcare is a credential platforms recognize when reviewing regulated businesses.
Connect brings that infrastructure into the operating model instead of another system your practice has to piece together.
MCC 5912, in plain English
MCC 5912 is the payment industry's category for drug stores and pharmacies. Your staff does not need to manage the code. What matters is that the payment setup reflects the type of transaction being processed.

Payment providers still control their own review and enforcement processes. Connect does not guarantee that an account will never be reviewed or restricted.

Certification

Healthcare certification already behind the platform

DrWell is a LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner for Healthcare, a credential relevant to regulated advertising and payment-platform review. Your practice uses Connect without having to become an expert in the certification itself.

The certification sits behind the platform your program runs on, not as a badge on your page.
Advertising for your practice can run inside DrWell’s certified program as a separate opt-in service.
Pharmacies in the network hold the certifications LegitScript requires of a sourcing partner.

Pharmacy vetting happens before they're allowed in the network

Connect evaluates pharmacy partners before they can receive orders, including licensing, state coverage, relevant credentials, testing standards and recall history. Your staff does not have to build that review process themselves.

At enrollment

Consent and identity checks happen before the order moves forward

Connect captures program-specific consent and checks patient identity before payment and medication ordering. If verification does not clear automatically, the case can wait for provider review.

Informed consent captured at enrollment, specific to the program the patient is starting.
Identity verified before payment and before the order, not after the medication has shipped.
A failed check routes to your provider for manual review, and that approval is recorded.

The record

The record builds while your team works

Key actions such as dose changes, identity approvals and consent can be recorded with the patient workflow as they happen, giving your team a history to retrieve later instead of reconstructing one from memory.

Dose changes recorded with the user who approved them and when.
Manual identity approvals recorded with approving user, date, time and IP address.
Consent, order and delivery records held together on the patient rather than scattered across systems.

Questions

Compliance and payments, answered plainly

Does Connect make our practice compliant?

No. Your practice and providers retain their legal, clinical and regulatory responsibilities. Connect supports specific safeguards and administrative processes inside the workflow.

How are medication payments handled?

Connect uses the pharmacy-related merchant classification identified on this page (MCC 5912), and DrWell is a LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner for Healthcare. Your team does not need to manage the merchant code itself.

Does this guarantee payments are never held?

No. Payment providers retain their own review and enforcement processes. Connect does not guarantee that an account will never be reviewed or restricted.

How are pharmacy partners evaluated?

Connect reviews licensing, state coverage, relevant credentials, testing standards and recall history before a pharmacy can receive orders.

Can we advertise these programs?

DrWell offers an optional advertising service within its LegitScript-certified program. Advertising remains subject to platform rules.

Does DrWell's LegitScript certification make our practice LegitScript certified?

No. DrWell is a LegitScript Enterprise Certification Partner for Healthcare, and your program operates inside that certified environment. That is what allows advertising and payments to work the way they do. It does not certify your practice on its own, and your practice should not describe itself as LegitScript certified.

Do you support controlled substances?

Not yet. Prescribing controlled substances electronically requires the platform itself to be certified, and DrWell is a candidate in DirectTrust's e-Prescribing of Controlled Substances Certification Program for prescribing applications. Prescribing itself stays with your providers under their own DEA registrations. Until that certification is complete, Connect handles non-controlled medications.

When is patient identity verified?

During checkout, before payment and medication ordering. If additional verification is needed, the patient may be asked for identification and the case can be routed for provider review.
